Material Works Architecture is a London studio working on homes, workplaces and commercial developments, with an emphasis on low-carbon design and the reuse of existing buildings. Its published approach starts with the resources already available, aiming to avoid unnecessary work and excessive technical complexity. The firm describes involvement from early ideas through delivery, supported by cost planning and programme testing. Residential work includes refurbishment, extensions and new houses; its wider portfolio includes the retrofit of Sustainable Ventures at County Hall. Confirm the design stages, budget assumptions and consultant responsibilities in a written proposal.
